- "The Force will be free. The Mother has forseen it."
- ―Jaydyn, to citizens of the Holy City
Jaydyn was a Quermian female[1] who was a member of the Path of the Open Hand cult[3] around 382 BBY. Around that time,[4] Jaydyn was present at a almshouse dedicated to the Path on the moon Jedha and preached the teachings of the Mother to citizens of the Holy City. As the Jedi Vildar Mac and Matthea Cathley made their way to the Enlightenment bar, they came across Jaydyn, who warned them to not disrupt their work. After a brief entanglement, Mac stated the two had no time for the incident and left. As they left, Jaydyn told them that the Jedi's time would come, and with a reckoning for anyone who sought to abuse the Force and bend it to their will.[3]
Later during the Battle of Jedha, Jaydyn was among the Path members trying to defend the almhouse from rioters. Jaydyn refused Vildar's offer to help, but was convinced by another Path member to accept his assistance.[1] After the almhouse collapsed, Jaydyn was trapped under the debris alongside other individuals, but they were saved by Vildar Mac who held the rubble up with the Force. Jaydyn initially blamed the event on the manipulation of the Force by the likes of Mac, however they listened to his story about how when he was a child, a bad man visited his village and almost killed him, but was stopped by a Jedi who saved Vildar's life. As Mac started to lose control of the debris, Matthea Cathley and the Guardians of the Whills joined the effort and helped free the individuals underneath by moving the debris away.[2]
Jaydyn was in the group of survivors of the almhouse collapse that followed Vildar to Enlightenment. Enlightenment's owner Kradon Minst provided the group with sanctuary and let them hide from the fighting going on in the Holy City. When Enlightenment was attacked by enforcer droids, Kradon activated energy shields around the bar.[5] The Quermian then followed Matthea when she led the survivors away from Enlightenment through secret smuggler's run that led from Enlightenment to the desert outside of Jedha City, however the group was forced to return to Enlightenment after a portion of the tunnel collapsed and blocked their way outside.[6]
