Jedi Apprentice: The Evil Experiment is a Star Wars Legends junior novel written by Jude Watson. It is the twelfth volume of the Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice series, following The Deadly Hunter and preceding The Dangerous Rescue. It was published in paperback by Scholastic in February 2001.
Publisher's summary[]
An evil scientist is imprisoning and torturing Jedi to find the secret behind the Force. She taps their emotions, monitors their actions…and then drains them of their blood.
Qui-Gon Jinn is now her captive.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is desperately searching for his Master. Meanwhile, Qui-Gon must match wits with one of the most dangerous enemies he has ever encountered.
His survival depends on it.
Continuity[]
The seventh Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice novel, Jedi Apprentice: The Captive Temple (2000), depicted Jedi Master Ki-Adi-Mundi as a member of the Jedi Council. However, the comic book miniseries Jedi Council: Acts of War later established that Ki-Adi-Mundi did not join the Council until 33 BBY, after the death of Council member Micah Giiett. Jedi Apprentice: The Evil Experiment corrected this inconsistency by explaining that Ki-Adi-Mundi would occasionally sit on the Council in Giiett's absence.[2]
