"Hypersignal sensor data and recalculation indicates that all ships shall emerge from hyperspace in formation. Only the strike cruiser Shador is anticipated to have deviated more than an arc second since we left Jerijador."
―Captain Oweg, Imperial warship Valiant[5]

Jerijador, located in the Calaron sector of the Outer Rim Territories, was a planet teeming with a variety of lifeforms that was hospitable to humanoids. In the aftermath of the Battle of Yavin, a fleet of Imperial warships led by Moff Vensell staged at Jerijador in preparation for an assault on the Rebel Alliance. This attracted many scavengers who came to salvage the junk that the departing Imperial vessels left behind upon entering hyperspace.

Description[]

A terrestrial world of landmasses and oceans, Jerijador teemed with many different kinds of life and was quite hospitable to humanoids.[1] The planet was located in the Jerijador system of the Calaron sector,[3] within the Slice portion[2] of the Outer Rim Territories.[1]

History[]

Shortly after the Battle of Yavin, during the Galactic Civil War between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance,[6] a fleet of Imperial warships[7] under the command of Moff Vensell staged at Jerijador before embarking on an attack against Rebel forces. The fleet included the warship Valiant, commanded by Captain Oweg, and the Strike-class medium cruiser Shador.[5]

Once the Imperial warships departed Jerijador by jumping to hyperspace, more than a dozen scavenger starships—including The Lucky Find, crewed by Captain Sreethyn and hireling Kanda Farral—raced from the nearby planet to collect the refuse that the fleet had left behind. With the assistance of four retrieval droids, Farral entered the vacuum of space over Jerijador wearing a zero-gravity work suit and began claiming the Empire's discarded goods for Sreethyn's scavenging business.[7]

By 12 ABY,[8] Jerijador exported cheap shoe kits. One such lot had made its way to the planet Belsavis during the Eye of Palpatine incident.[4]

Behind the scenes[]

Jerijador was created by author Greg Gorden for the Imperial Sourcebook, originally published by West End Games in October 1989 as a supplement for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. The Imperial Sourcebook mentioned Jerijador in the short companion narratives "A Salvager's Run" and "The Full Might of the Empire."[7][5]

Jerijador was later one of 200 playable worlds included in the 1998 PC game Star Wars: Rebellion, which provided the planet's only visual depiction, an image also used to illustrate eleven other planets of similar composition in the game.[1] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, placed the Jerijador system, and therefore the planet itself, in grid square T-9.[2]

Star Wars: Rebellion cartography[]

Star Wars: Rebellion provides hyperspace travel times between each planet in the game. However, in several instances these times are significantly longer than those in other Star Wars Legends sources, which seems to reflect the Star Wars: Rebellion hyperspace times as game mechanics rather than actual figures. Jerijador's intra-sector hyperspace times and distance from Coruscant according to Star Wars: Rebellion using the game's fastest capital ship hyperdrive are as follows. Note that this chart only includes planets that were canonically located in the Calaron sector with respect to the Legends continuity, excepting Coruscant.
