- "Isela and I lived here—Toma and Ji and Norika next to us on this side."
- ―Akanah Norand Goss Pell, upon discovering the ruins of Ialtra
Ji was an individual who lived in the Fallanassi religious order's village Ialtra on the planet Lucazec with the Fallanassi Toma and Norika. Ji also neighbored a girl named Akanah Norand Goss Pell,[1] and the pair were friends.[2] By 16 ABY,[3] neighboring settlements Big Hill and Jisasu ransacked Ialtra, fearing the Fallanassi and their powers. The village was heavily damaged and abandoned after the raid, though Ji and the others escaped without being killed.[1]
Between 16 ABY and 17 ABY,[3] Akanah returned to her childhood home and found it in ruins. Greatly distraught by this revelation, Akanah was convinced that she would have felt her friends touch the White Current if they had died. She and her guest, the Jedi Luke Skywalker, determined that Ji and the others had escaped in time.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Ji was first mentioned in the 1996 novel Before the Storm by Michael P. Kube-McDowell, the first novel in The Black Fleet Crisis trilogy.[1]
