Jiang Wen, named 姜文 in Chinese, is a filmmaker who played Baze Malbus in the 2016 anthology film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Jiang's 1993 film In the Heat of the Sun won six Golden Horse Awards in Taiwan, including Best Picture and Best Director, while his 2000 film Devils on the Doorstep won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival. Jiang had won over a dozen other awards for writing, directing, and starring in numerous productions, including winning Best Actor twice at China's Hundred Flowers Awards in the 1980s and Best Supporting Actor at the Hong Kong Film Awards for his role in the 1997 film The Soong Sisters.[1]
