Prior to 4 ABY's Battle of Endor, Scimitar Squadron was stationed in the Endor system and assigned with destroying any ground troops or equipment that might land on the Forest Moon of Endor,[5] which contained the shield generator protecting the Empire's orbiting Death Star. The Battle of Endor ended with the Death Star's destruction, and Jonus was one of the TIE pilots who attempted to evacuate the station before it was destroyed.[8]

Behind the scenes[]

Jonus attempting to escape the Death Star, as seen in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi

Jonus first appeared in 1983's original trilogy film Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi,[8] in a scene filmed between February 25 and March 1, 1982 at Elstree Studios's stage 6.[9] He was named in the 2000 Death Star II Limited expansion set of Decipher, Inc.'s Star Wars Customizable Card Game.[1] The image used for Jonus's card is a modified version of a TIE pilot promotional image, thus linking him to that pilot in-universe.[10] In 2012, Fantasy Flight Games released Star Wars: The Card Game Core Set, which included a card showing an illustration of Jonus operating a TIE/sa bomber.[11] However, it was only made clear in 2013's TIE Bomber Expansion Pack of Fantasy Flight Games's Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game that Jonus was the pilot of one of the TIE/sa bombers in the earlier card game.[12]
