"An old friend of mine, Jornel Savas works with Corsec on Corellia. He recently contacted me. It seems they've encountered some trouble and he's looking for capable individuals to help solve whatever the problem is."
―Agent Taarna, to a spacer[1]

Jornel Savas was a Human male CorSec agent who lived on Corellia during the time of the Galactic Civil War.

Biography[]

"We've got a real problem here. This cave here seems to contain an old droid factory from the Clone Wars. For some reason it's been reactivated."
―Jornel Savas, to a spacer[1]

By the time following the Battle of Yavin, Jornel Savas was an agent in the Corellian Security Force[1] and was based in the city of Coronet on Corellia.[2]

In 1 ABY,[3] the CorSec received reports of hostile Clone Wars-era battle droids active in the Bindreg Hills. A group led by Lieutenant Varias, including Jornel Savas, Officers Hirka, Kener and Mener, and several CorSec troopers, was dispatched from Coronet to investigate. The unit discovered an old and fully automated droid factory, presumably built in secret by the Separatists during the Clone Wars.[2] The CorSec ignored that the factory had been reactivated by IG-88 for his project of Droid Revolution.[4] The droid factory was defended by many battle droids but the Corellian government was reluctant to send reinforcement since it would like to avoid drawing the attention of the Galactic Empire.[2] Agent Savas was therefore tasked to recruit independent spacers to assist the CorSec in the factory. He contacted CorSec agent Taarna who used to work with spacers on Talus and his old friend accepted to help him.[1] Several spacers later traveled to Corellia to fight the droids and shut down the factory. According to Lieutenant Varias, the intervention of the spacers permitted to contain the crisis and avoid a disaster.[4]

  3. The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
