"The model we used in this painting was Josh Izzo, our resident Star Wars expert. We thanked many of our invaluable assistants by killing them off."
―Tim Hildebrandt[1]

Josh Izzo worked as an assistant for artists Greg and Tim Hildebrandt during their creation of Topps' 1996 Shadows of the Empire trading card set. Izzo constructed a model T-65 X-wing starfighter, which the Hildebrandts used to paint the set's "Luke Scores a TIE" card. He also wore a custom-made Bossk mask to model as the female Barabel bounty hunter Skahtul and modeled as another bounty hunter.

Izzo later contributed content to Topps' Star Wars Galaxy Collector magazine.
