Junk dealers, also referred to as junk traders, were merchants who bought and sold used pieces of technology and equipment.[3] Anakin Skywalker was once a slave owned by Watto, a Toydarian junk dealer from Tatooine.[2] The Crolute Unkar Plutt was a junk dealer who operated in Niima Outpost on the planet Jakku. Due to his monopoly on the market, he had earned the title of junk boss.[1] Rey, a scavenger native to Jakku, was the daughter of junk traders who sold her to Plutt for drinking money.[4]
