The Juris sector was an Outer Rim Territories space sector. It contained the Qeimet, Stend, and Trigalis systems, which lay on the Five Veils Route hyperlane, as well as the Huvveck, Tebru, and Vorusku systems. The Juris sector worlds of Vorusku and Tebru served as residences for Kaminoan Jedi Kina Ha and the droid inventor and historian Toria Tell, respectively.
Following the Invasion of Naboo, a group of Galactic Republic agents uncovered the criminal activities of the Vorusku crimelord Jalla Spree, while the Army of Life eco-terrorists released eggs of the highly invasive clodhoppers into the environment on the Gran and Elomin colony planet Stend IV. The Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi dueled the Black Sun enforcer Xist on the swamp world Trigalis during the Clone Wars. By 19 BBY, the Qeimet system served as the headquarters of Republic Moff Kintaro of the Sarin Oversector.
During the reign of the Galactic Empire, a swoop gang war commenced on the planet Stend VI that the Empire attempted to stop using a specialized squad of speeder bike–mounted Storm Commandos. During the Galactic Civil War, the daughter of the Imperial governor of the Revkinn system attended an elite boarding school in the Juris sector, and in 3 ABY, the Imperial Death Squadron was stationed in the Qeimet system when it discovered the location of the hidden Rebel Alliance base.

The Juris sector was a space sector located in the Trailing Sectors portion of the Outer Rim Territories.[2] By 0 ABY, the Juris sector bordered the Sarin sector Rimward, and the Cadavine and Bajic sectors spinward, while sharing the trailing border with the Sanbra sector and the Hook Nebula. Together with the Sanbra and Cadavine sectors, the Juris sector formed the Outer Rim Territories' Coreward border, neighboring the Ryndellian sector of the Mid Rim.[1] The Five Veils Route passed through the Juris sector's eastern section,[5] linking the Trigalis, Stend, and Qeimet systems to the Ninzam system of the Mid Rim and the Vergesso system[8] of the Bajic sector. Other star systems in the Juris sector included the Vorusku system, the Tebru system, and the Huvveck system.[3]
The swamp planet Trigalis was a part of the Juris sector.
The Stend system[8] contained the terrestrial planets Stend IV[6] and Stend VI.[9] The former was a tropical jungle world with several oceans on its surface as well as a cloudy atmosphere,[6] while the latter had a temperate climate and featured mountains, plains, and urban areas.[9] The planet Trigalis[7] was located in the system of the same name.[8] Its surface was covered with swamps,[10] which were home to yellow birds and dark-blue flying insects.[7] The Vorusku system[8] was the site of the waterworld Vorusku, whose surface featured cliffs as well as a volcano city.[11] The Tebru system[3] contained a rocky planet of the same name,[12] while the Huvveck system shared its name with the University of Huvveck.[13]

Waterworld and clodhoppers[]

Centuries before[15] 19 BBY,[16] the Kaminoan Jedi Kina Ha experienced a vision of[17] her homeworld of Kamino's future[14] during her stay on Vorusku.[17] The vision, in which Kaminoan cloners unwittingly created an army of clone soldiers for the dark side of the Force,[14] haunted the Jedi, causing her to return to Kamino.[17] At some point after the Trade Federation invasion of the planet Naboo ended[11] in 32 BBY,[18] the Vorusku crimelord Jalla Spree began to supply the Blue Star Pirates with military-grade weaponry. A group of individuals recruited by the Office of the Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic traveled to Vorusku, where they eventually uncovered Spree's activities.[11]
Shortly after the Invasion of Naboo,[19] the anti-technological eco-terrorist group known as the Army of Life hired a group of individuals to deliver 400 eggs of clodhoppers, invasive creatures known for destroying whole planetary ecosystems, to the largest settlement on Stend IV and release the eggs into the environment. Even though the local colonial militia, led by the Jedi Guardian Dree-Tekes,[6] and a government-tasked group of individuals on a mission to stop the terrorist plot both attacked[20] the Army of Life's freighter upon landing on Stend IV, the clodhopper eggs were ultimately released into the planet's environment.[6]

The area of space surrounding the Qeimet and Trigalis systems was explored between 1000 BBY and 25 BBY.[8] When the first campaigns of the Clone Wars were waged between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems in 22 BBY, the Qeimet system served as base of operations for the Fifteenth Army of the Republic Military. The Fifteenth Army was tasked with defending the territory known as the Sarin Oversector, which included the Trigalis system, against the military forces of the Confederacy.[21]
Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi dueled the Black Sun enforcer Xist on Trigalis.
The Jedi Order sent[22] Jedi Master[23] Aayla Secura on a mission to Trigalis[7] around the date 19.48 BBY.[24] Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi also visited the planet[7] a month later[25] on a personal mission to learn the whereabouts of the Confederacy commander Asajj Ventress. Kenobi met Secura in the city of New Coronet and later penetrated the personal fortress of Xist, the local authority of the Black Sun syndicate. Defeated by the Jedi in a fierce duel,[7] the enforcer fed misleading information to Kenobi,[26] who then continued his search off-planet.[7]

The Qeimet system served as headquarters for Moff Kintaro of the Sarin Oversector.
By 19 BBY,[28] Qeimet served as the headquarters of Republic Moff Kintaro of the Sarin Oversector. Following the establishment of the Galactic Empire, Kintaro became the Grand Moff of the Oversector,[21] though he relocated his headquarters to Talofan,[29] in the Bajic sector,[30] by 3.5 ABY.[31] During the reign of the Empire, several scandocs authored by the Imperial Commission for the Preservation of the New Order were accidentally transmitted to a media beamcast located in the Qeimet system. The leaked scandocs revealed to the general public the name of the Ubiqtorate, the governing body of Imperial Intelligence.[27]
Trigalis was located just outside space controlled by the Empire by 19 BBY. That year, Imperial military forces commanded by Grand Moff Octavian Grant passed through the Trigalis system as they pursued Marath Vooro, the former Customs Vizier of the effectively-disestablished Trade Federation, from the planet Farstine down the Five Veils Route.[21] Due to a misunderstanding, the Zelosian thief and smuggler Celot Ratua Dil was arrested by the local authorities on Trigalis[32] at some point between 3 BBY and 0 BBY.[33] The Zelosian was subsequently sentenced to imprisonment on the Atrivis sector prison planet Despayre.[32]

Swoop gang warfare on Stend VI
The sociopath Jeng Seth formed the swoop gang known as the Skulls on Stend VI[35] by 2 BBY.[36] To oppose the Skulls' reign of terror, the gang known as the Knights, led by the idealistic swoop mechanic Finegan Flint, was created. The situation eventually escalated into a gang war[35] and led to the formation of several other swoop gangs.[9]
The Razers gang succeeded the Skulls when the latter relocated to the Hook Nebula, and the Rebel Alliance tried to recruit members of the Knights to their cause[9] at some point between the years 0 ABY and 4 ABY.[37] In addition, by the date 37:6:8, Stend VI had become a neutral meeting place favored by certain pirate groups.[34] To efficiently combat the swoopers, the Empire formed the Dark Riders, a specialized squad of elite Storm Commandos mounted on heavily modified speeder bikes.[9]
At some point during the swoop gang warfare on Stend VI, the Black Raptor, the infamous swoop of the famous racer Blizz Pinnix, mysteriously disappeared. Pinnix put out a very large reward for the swoop's return, which attracted to the planet many individuals eager to look for the lost vehicle, as well as bounty hunters and mercenaries. Around the same time, a group of individuals, assisted by Pinnix, the Knights gang, and undercover Sector Ranger Special Enforcement Officer Narra Mesyne, disrupted the operations of the Stend VI-based crimelord Kaylo NaKuda.[9]
An Imperial sector[]

Death Squadron, the personal Star Destroyer fleet of[21] the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader,[39] rendezvoused[40] in the Qeimet system[41] in 3 ABY.[42] Tasked with locating the hidden Rebel base,[21] the fleet waited in the system to receive any leads on its whereabouts.[43] While there, Captain Firmus Piett of the[44] Star Dreadnought Executor, the flagship of the fleet,[45] informed Admiral Kendal Ozzel and Vader of a report transmitted by an Imperial probe droid from the supposedly uninhabited Hoth system. The probe's findings indicated life readings, which Piett believed signaled the presence of the hidden base. Confident that the Empire had indeed discovered the site of the Rebel base, Vader ordered Death Squadron to set course for the Hoth system.[38] The fleet then jumped along the Five Veils Route to the Farstine system, from where it continued its travel to the planet Hoth. For the upcoming attack on the Rebel base, Juris Sector Forces loaned four Star Destroyers to the Death Squadron.[8]
The Imperial Death Squadron was present in the Qeimet system at the time of its discovery of the Rebel base on Hoth.
During the Galactic Civil War, an expensive,[46] elite[4] private[46] boarding school was located in the Juris sector.[4] Linrec, the Imperial governor of the Revkinn system[46] in the Parmel sector,[3] sent his daughter, Cressis, to attend the school.[4] At some point between 0 ABY and 4 ABY,[47] Cressis, protesting against her father's decision to marry her off to the Parmel sector's Moff Raiss, conspired to elope with the pirate Jondrell Inx. To that end, Cressis left her school and boarded incognito a supply starship bound for the Parmel sector's planet Kallistas. While en route, the girl sent her flight plan to Inx, who proceeded to attack and capture the vessel.[46] Around the same time, the Juris and Albanin sectors were the only two Outer Rim sectors in which House Renliss, an exclusively-female bounty hunter guild only accepting bounties on male targets, operated.[48]
By 4 ABY,[49] the bounty hunter Boba Fett traveled along the segment of the Five Veils Route between the Vergesso system and Farstine in his starship, Slave I, while transporting the carbonite-encased Captain Han Solo to the planet Tatooine in the Arkanis sector. Five years later, the Five Veils Route lay within the territories either conquered by or allied with Grand Admiral Thrawn's confederation, and the warlord's forces moved from Farstine to the Svivren system via the hyperlane that year. The hyperspace route was part of the Galactic Empire ruled by the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Krayt in 137 ABY.[8]
Inhabitants[]

Vorusku once served as temporary residence for the Kaminoan Jedi Kina Ha.[17] Following the Invasion of Naboo, the headquarters of the crimelord Jalla Spree were located on Vorusku.[11] Decades before the Galactic Civil War, Stend IV was settled by Gran colonists from the[50] Mid Rim[8] world of Malastare.[50] The colony world was at a low level of technology and only maintained a rag-tag colonial militia of limited military experience.[6] One continent on Stend IV was also home to Elomin colonists.[20] The droid inventor and historian Toria Tell maintained a large residence on Tebru[12] by 3 ABY.[51]
New Coronet, a famous shadowport on Trigalis
At some point long before the Clone Wars, the city of New Coronet was established on Trigalis as a trading post. Over time, the city devolved into a haven for individuals indulging in criminal activities, most of whom were connected to the Black Sun syndicate,[7] and the planet Trigalis became a famous shadowport.[8] Representatives of several sentient species, including Humans, were present in New Coronet during Obi-Wan Kenobi's mission to the city during the Clone Wars.[7] The population of the Qeimet and Trigalis systems numbered from 10 million to 100 million around 25 ABY.[8]
Stend VI had a mostly Human population of 2.2 billion. The inhabitants of the Outer Rim world were governed by a representative democracy allied with the Galactic Empire, in which the planet served the role of a manufacturing and processing site. The swoop gangs of Stend VI were responsible for daily skirmishes in the planet's skies. A prominent location on Stend VI was the swoop pilot cantina known as The Pits. The Herglic businessman Kaylo NaKuda, who oversaw the day-to-day operations of The Pits on behalf of the bar's owner, Blizz Pinnix, also ran a criminal outfit based in the adjacent Kuda's Compound. The Twi'lek Sil Vaturha, one of the enslaved individuals forced to work at Kuda's Compound's hidden, underground garages, was probably one of the most technologically-skilled individuals within[9] the Juris sector[52] as well as several of the surrounding sectors.[9]
Behind the scenes[]
The Juris sector was first mentioned in the 1994 roleplaying game sourcebook Galaxy Guide 10: Bounty Hunters. The book was authored by Rick D. Stuart and published by West End Games for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[48] In 2009, the reference book The Essential Atlas retroactively established the Qeimet system as having appeared in the original trilogy film Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.[8] The StarWars.com Online Companion to The Essential Atlas later placed Qeimet within the Juris sector, thereby establishing the film as the de facto earliest appearance of the sector.[3]
The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia, a reference book published in 2008, placed the Juris sector near the Albanin sector.[4] This placement was contradicted by The Essential Atlas Online Companion, which established that the star systems of the Juris and Albanin sectors respectively lay in grid squares[3] corresponding to the southeastern and eastern quadrant of the Outer Rim Territories per The Essential Atlas.[8] In 2012, The Essential Atlas Extra: Outer Rim Sectors further depicted the two sectors as lying approximately 30,000 light-years apart.[1]
