Kalpana was a male politician who served as Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic before Finis Valorum. Kalpana was part of the influential Kalpana family. During his chancellery, as part of the Galactic Senate grandiose projects, the Katana fleet was built, only to be lost during its maiden voyage, and the Stark Hyperspace War occurred in the Troiken system.
Biography[]
Kalpana was a member of an influential family allied with House Valorum.[1]
Finis Valorum served in Kalpana's administration while still a senator.[2] He also rode an Eddicus-class planetary shuttle that had been bugged by Senator Palpatine of Naboo.[3]
In 44 BBY, Kalpana had received a request from Governor SonTag of Bandomeer that Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn travel to the planet and act as a Jedi representative for business concerning the Offworld Mining Corporation. However, unknown to the Chancellor, the message was forged by the Dark Jedi Xanatos to lure his former Master into a trap.[4] It was during Kalpana's Chancellorship that the Katana fleet was built and lost, and the Stark Hyperspace War occurred later that year.
