"I boarded my shuttle, ordering Captain Karm to take me up to the Lindworm, where I could assume command"
―Darth Malgus[1]

Captain Karm was an individual who served the Sith Empire. During the Great Galactic War, Karm acted as the pilot of the personal shuttle of the Sith Lord Darth Malgus and was stationed in the city Livien Magnus on the planet Ord Radama during a Sith attack on the world. During the latter stages of the battle, a Galactic Republic fleet attacked Malgus' capital ships in orbit of Ord Radama and Malgus ordered Karm to fly him from Livien Magnus to the Sith dreadnaught Lindworm. Karm flew the shuttle with skill and evaded the Republic's Aurek-class tactical strikefighters, and the Captain landed Malgus' shuttle in the Lindworm's ventral hangar bay.

Behind the scenes[]

"In an impenetrable Easter Egg that pleased only me, the pilot of Malgus' shuttle taking him to the Lindworm is "Captain Karm." One of my favorite books as a kid was an English-translated version of Swedish author Astrid Lindgren's The Brothers Lionheart, which featured a giant lindworm named Karm fighting a giant dragon named Katla."
―Daniel Wallace[2]

Karm was created by Daniel Wallace and was mentioned in the 2012 publication Book of Sith: Secrets from the Dark Side. Wallace intended Karm to be a reference to the 1973 fantasy novel The Brothers Lionheart by the Swedish writer Astrid Lindgren, one of Wallace's favorite books from his childhood, which featured a giant lindworm character called Karm.[2]
