Kashyyykian ceremonial armor

The Kashyyykian ceremonial armor was a type of armor used by the Wookiee species during the Galactic Civil War.^[2] Although the Wookiees were capable of using advanced technology, this armor was built using natural resources from their homeworld of Kashyyyk.^[4] As its name suggested, it was mainly used in formal ceremonies but had some protective value as well. This model of armor combined an emphasis on organic components with sturdy functionality that allowed the Wookiees to combat dangerous creatures.^[4] The Kashyyykian ceremonial armor offered a high degree of protection against energy-based weapons like blasters but lesser protection from kinetic damage.^[1] The complete armor set comprised a chest plate with an included helmet, left & right biceps, left & right bracers and leggings.^[2]

Two other models of Wookiee armors were the Kashyyykian black mountain and hunting armors.^[5]

Kashyyykian ceremonial armors were worn by the Rryatt Ceremonial Guard.^[3]

The Kashyyykian ceremonial armor appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,^[2] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.^[6] The Kashyyykian ceremonial armor was added to the game with an update released on March 30, 2004.^[7]
