Kat Saka was a fourth-generation Batuuan[3] human who operated Kat Saka's Kettle in Black Spire Outpost on the Outer Rim planet Batuu.[1] A member of the Saka family, her great-grandparents had come to the planet as colonists and established Saka Farms. The family continued to cultivate the land and perfected their growing process for their heirloom grain crops. Like others in her family, Kat was a farmer[4] and grew Surabat grain on her farm.[5]
In 34 ABY,[6] Saka was a woman in her thirties.[2] She developed a unique blend of spices[4] that she used to season her signature Outpost Mix, a variety of popped grains. She would not share the recipe with Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs, but she did provide him with one of her secondary mixes, Saka Salt.[1] ran the Saka Homestead, which raised banthas and grew Surabat grain.[2]
