Katiz Xemir was a human mercenary whose personal grudge against the Empire led him to hire himself out to fight Imperial targets. Xemir's hatred of the Empire stemmed from an incident on the remote world on which he and his family were colonists. Xemir and his family had refused to relocate in order to make way for a mining facility, and as a result his family was slaughtered by Imperial forces. Xemir himself survived, and began drifting around the galaxy, hurting the Empire where and how he could.
While on StarForge Station Xemir responded to a call by Captain Dhas Vedij to join the crew of the Rebel privateer vessel Far Orbit.
