"I'm not finished yet, sir. We can do this, General!"
―Clone Captain Keeli, speaking to Ima-Gun Di during their final stand on Ryloth[src]

"Keeli" was the nickname of a clone trooper captain who fought on Ryloth during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Grown on the planet Kamino as a clone of the bounty hunter Jango Fett, Keeli wielded dual DC-17 blaster pistols when in combat and sported customized Phase I clone trooper armor which featured dark brown markings.

At some point during the Clone Wars, Keeli was present on Ryloth and fought against the Separatist forces that were attempting to capture the planet. Alongside Jedi Master Ima-Gun Di, he was able to divert attention away from the Twi'lek people, long enough to allow supplies to reach them. However, during the battle, Keeli and Di were killed after making a valiant final stand against the Confederate invaders. The duo's sacrifices were not in vain though, as the Republic supplies reached the Twi'leks just in time.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Early life[edit | edit source]

Like all clone troopers, Keeli was grown on the planet of Kamino and was a clone of the bounty hunter Jango Fett.[1]

Battle of Ryloth[edit | edit source]

Keeli and Di making their last stand for the people of Ryloth.

Captain Keeli served under Jedi General Ima-Gun Di in the Clone Wars during the Confederate assault on Ryloth and commanded the Republic garrison there[3] in 22 BBY.[2] They fought alongside Cham Syndulla and his Twi'lek Resistance against hordes droids. As the Separatists began to overwhelm Republic forces on Ryloth, Syndulla told Keeli and Di that they desperately needed Republic supply ships to arrive. However, the ships could not be safely deployed in their current situation. As Syndulla told Di that his people had no choice but to retreat, Di and Keeli agreed to sacrifice themselves and stay behind and buy them time against the incoming Separatists.[3]

Keeli organized his men and set a trap, stocking a Republic gunship with munitions and hiding nearby. They detonated the gunship when the droids arrived and then emerged from hiding to make their last stand. Keeli and his men fought valiantly, but, the outnumbered clones were quickly overwhelmed. A few minutes after the battle had begun, a thermal detonator exploded, throwing Keeli and two other clones to the ground and leaving Di alone. Fortunately, Keeli was not killed and stood up beside the Jedi and continued to fight. Keeli managed to shoot down many droids before being hit in the chest twice, killing him. Di was later shot down as well, but they both helped save Ryloth, by letting the supply ships get by, delivering supplies to the Twi'leks.[3]

Personality and traits[edit | edit source]

Keeli was a male human clone of the bounty hunter Jango Fett, who stood at 1.83 meters tall[1] and had brown eyes. Keeli was a valiant soldier, agreeing to make their last stand to aid the Twi'lek Resistance. Keeli fought with his Jedi General to the very end at the Battle of Ryloth, eventually giving his life to provide cover for the retreating Twi'leks.[3]

Equipment[edit | edit source]

During the Clone Wars, Keeli donned customized Phase I clone trooper armor that featured dark brown markings and a dark brown shoulder pauldron. Keeli used two DC-17 hand blasters during combat.[3]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Keeli made his first appearance in the television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars in which he was voiced by Dee Bradley Baker.
