- "In the end, a Jedi-led task force moved in to settle the matter. Trench's ship was destroyed and we assumed he went down with it."
- ―Wullf Yularen to Anakin Skywalker, on Kep-She's actions at the Battle of Malastare Narrows
Kep-She was a Jedi Master of the Jedi Order who served the Galactic Republic prior to the Clone Wars. After the Republic's devastating first defeat at the hands of Admiral Trench during the Battle of Malastare Narrows, Kep-She led a taskforce to defeat the Corporate Alliance's blockade around the planet Malastare. Their actions resulted in a victory for the Republic, as Trench's flagship was destroyed and the fearsome Harch admiral was presumed to have died with it. However, their legacy was somewhat tainted when Trench resurfaced and joined the Separatist navy during the Clone Wars. Wullf Yularen, a Republic admiral and veteran of the Battle of Malastare Narrows, discovered as much at the Battle of Christophsis in 22 BBY, whilst the Republic attempted to break the blockade above the planet. Yularen informed his commanding Jedi General Anakin Skywalker of his discovery and, after a brief recount of Kep-She's victory at Malastare, the duo engaged the blockade. Skywalker successfully bested Trench and destroyed the blockade above Christophsis, but the admiral survived another seemingly fatal defeat. He battled Skywalker again at Ringo Vinda and was finally killed by the Jedi Knight during the Battle for Anaxes in 19 BBY.
Battle of Malastare NarrowsEdit
- "A corporate fleet was blockading Malastare. A fleet led by Trench."
- ―Wullf Yularen to Anakin Skywalker, regarding the Battle of Malastare Narrows
Kep-She was a Force-sensitive individual who lived prior to the Clone Wars. They were inducted into the Jedi Order and acquired the rank of Jedi Master. When a Corporate Alliance fleet blockaded the planet Malastare, a Galactic Republic taskforce led by officer Wullf Yularen engaged them, in what would come to be known as the Battle of Malastare Narrows. The Corporate fleet was commanded by the Harch Admiral Trench, who inflicted heavy casualties on the Republic forces. Yularen, however, survived and escaped the battle alongside other personnel. Following this disastrous defeat, Kep-She led a second taskforce to the planet in order to defeat the blockade. They were ultimately successful, as Trench's flagship was destroyed and he was presumed dead.
- "If I remember my military history, wasn't he vaporized at the Battle of Malastare Narrows?"
- ―Skywalker to Yularen, on Trench
Kep-She's actions at the Battle of Malastare Narrows were not forgotten. During the Clone Wars, Yularen recognized the crest of the presumed deceased Admiral Trench whilst attempting to destroy the Separatist blockade over Christophsis in 22 BBY. This information, in combination with the tactics that the Separatist naval forces had demonstrated so far, allowed him to correctly deduce that the blockade was under the command of Trench, who had somehow survived the battle at Malastare. Yularen proceeded to explain his findings and relay his experience at the battle to Jedi General Anakin Skywalker, who remembered Trench's false demise thanks to his knowledge of military history. Skywalker was able to defeat the blockade, which seemingly resulted in the second presumed death of Trench. Once again, however, Trench survived his apparent demise and fought against Skywalker at the Battle of Ringo Vinda in 19 BBY. His death would eventually come at the Battle for Anaxes in the same year, where Skywalker killed him once and for all.
Powers and abilitiesEdit
Kep-She was a competent Jedi, enough so that they acquired the rank of Jedi Master. Their taskforce was able to best the tactics of Trench, a notably ruthless admiral, and destroy his flagship at the Battle of Malastare Narrows.
Behind the scenesEdit
Kep-She was first indirectly mentioned in "Cat and Mouse", the sixteenth episode of the canon animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars' second season, which first aired on March 20, 2010. In the episode's script, Kep-She was originally supposed to be directly mentioned as the Jedi who broke the blockade during the Battle of Malastare Narrows. However, their name was ultimately cut from the final episode. They were later identified in the corresponding episode guide's trivia gallery on StarWars.com.
