Commander Keten was a commander in the service of Imperial Remnant Moff Kurlen Flennic during the time of the Yuuzhan Vong War. He had a deep, guttural voice and conducted himself in an officious manner.[1]
After the Jedi expedition aboard the Jade Shadow fled from the Battle of Bastion, they arrived in Yaga Minor. A TIE Fighter patrol quickly noticed their presence, after which they were confronted by Keten, who demanded to know their intentions and also ordered that the Skywalkers prepare to be boarded.[1]
As the Skywalkers conferred, Keten approached them in an armed Imperial transport, accompanied by a dozen TIE Fighters. After a short time, he demanded a response. Wary of the situation, Mara Jade Skywalker decided to invite Keten aboard, as she reasoned that a mind trick would allow them resolve the situation. However, Keten was wary of Jedi mind tricks, and informed Jade Skywalker that the boarding party would consist solely of Mark Five security droids.[1]
Before his ship could dock with the Jade Shadow, Keten was ordered to stand down by Captain Arien Yage of the Widowmaker. Outranked, Keten submitted to Captain Yage's authority, and requested it be on record he did so under protest.[1]
