―The Voss, on the battle cruiser's destruction[3]

A battle cruiser was commanded by General Khypes of the Sith Empire when he was sent to conquer the recently-discovered Voss system[1] around 3645 BBY.[2] However, before Khypes could contact the native Voss and demand their surrender,[1] the secretive Star Cabal used their technology to override the starship's systems and caused it[4] to explode, and the battle cruiser's escorts were destroyed as well only moments later. The fleet's destruction, the cause of which could not be identified, shocked both the Galactic Republic and the Empire. The Empire suspected Republic sabotage or a secret Voss weapon, and the Republic theorized it was the result of infighting among the Sith.[1] Both the Republic and the Empire began diplomatic relations with the Force-sensitive Voss as a result, hoping to form an alliance with the species.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

Khypes and his battle cruiser were first mentioned in the Codex entry "The Imperial Attack on Voss" in Star Wars: The Old Republic, a video game released by BioWare in 2011.[1]

Additionally, Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia places the events of Act III, which include Voss, in approximately 3640 BBY; thus, the invasion of Voss occurred in approximately 3645 BBY.

SWTOR mini.png Star Wars: The Old Republic—Imperial Agent Mission: "The Hidden Throne" on Isen Four establishes that Imperial Intelligence investigates all occurrences of starships spontaneously exploding via Hunter's override technology in the last five years, and this leads Cipher Nine to the planets Belsavis and Voss. Additionally, the Star Cabal sends the Shining Man to Voss in the aftermath of the invasion, as they wish to prevent the Sith Empire and Galactic Republic from controlling the world. Thus, it can be determined that the Voss invasion was also caused by the Star Cabal.
