Kneepad rocket dart launchers were a type of rocket dart launcher worn and fired from a kneepad.[1] Such weapons were incorporated into the armor worn by both Jango Fett[2] and his son Boba Fett.[1]
Behind the scenes
- "They had little knee pads, where I could fire darts with. They were velcroted on, and by the end of the day they'd obviously slipped round so you'd have to keep shifting them. And if I walked, which I didn't do much of, they'd shoot across the room because the velcro would snap off and fly. It wasn't easy."
- ―Jeremy Bulloch
The kneepad rocket dart launcher first appeared in the 1980 film Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, and is later identified in the 2018 reference title Star Wars: The Complete Visual Dictionary, New Edition.[1] In an interview released on StarWars.com in 2002, the actor Jeremy Bulloch recalled that while he performed as Boba Fett in the original trilogy, the knee pads were attached to his armored suit by the use of velcro fasteners.[3]
