Koja-rum was a type of rum that could be found on the planet Saleucami. The beverage's alcoholic properties could cause the drinker to become intoxicated.[1]

In 4 ABY,[2] months after the Battle of Endor, Dav Taffral returned to his Saleucami home after serving with the Alliance to Restore the Republic. His brother Webb Taffral, an Imperial loyalist, became drunk on koja-rum and tried to attack Dav upon being insulted. The two brothers then scuffled until their father, Glen Taffral, broke up the fight.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Koja-rum was first mentioned in Aftermath, a canon 2015 novel written by Chuck Wendig that was released as part of the Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens publishing program.[1]

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 1.5 1.6 Aftermath
  2. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary dates the reunion of Norra Wexley and Temmin Wexley on Akiva—which occurs during the rebellion on Akiva, according to Aftermath—to thirty years before the Hosnian Cataclysm, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 34 ABY. Aftermath also establishes that the Taffral family dinner, including the appearance of koja-rum, happens concurrent to the rebellion on Akiva; therefore, both events must take place in 4 ABY.
