An Imperial fleet was active during the Galactic Civil War following the Battle of Endor.[1] In 5 ABY,[2] with the New Republic realizing that if they could hastily blockade of capture the Kuat shipyards, they would deprive the Galactic Empire of replenishment and potentially draw the war closer to an end. Shortly after the Republic launched their assault, Imperial Navy Grand Admiral Rae Sloane dispatched naval reinforcements to Moff Pollus Maksim on Kuat led by Vice Admiral Corf Ferno.[1]
The Imperial fleet was led by Moff Maksim and Vice Admiral Ferno, and consisted of multiple local Fleet Commanders. Command of the fleet largely fell to Ferno's ISD Dark Omen, and consisted of at least seventeen Star Destroyers in addition to support ships[1] and other craft such as a Quasar Fire-class cruiser-carrier.[3]
