Kubaza beetle

The Kubaza beetles were a vicious hive-dweller species of^[2] giant beetles^[1] that existed on the volcanic planet of Mustafar. Their diet consisted of the minerals and, as such, they were a common sight near lava flows. Kubaza were aggressive creatures when they felt their nests were threatened, and they had a unique way of handling attackers which was simply to explode upon being fatally wounded.^[2] Commander Lina Graf and her crew encountered one when they crash-landed on Mustafar. When the bodyguard droid XM-G3 attacked it, the wounded beetle exploded, sacrificing itself so its brood could escape the perceived threat.^[1]
