Kylah Lohmata, nicknamed Stowaway, was a human female member of the Riftwalkers gang, led by the pirate Zilastra.
Biography[]
Kylah Lohmata was a human female who was born on a world in Hutt Space. Lohmata lost both her mother and father by the age of nine. Abandoned, she lived as a stowaway on a number of starships throughout the region of the galaxy known as the Slice. When Lohmata stowed away on a merchant vessel stolen by the Nautolan pirate Zilastra, the leader of the Riftwalkers, she allowed the young girl to stay on in the Riftwalkers. The pirate leader specifically tasked Lohmata with stealing cases from the Regal Voyager shipping company on the planet Keldooine.[1]
On Keldooine, Lohmata met Jedi Master Depa Billaba, who had gone undercover to investigate the death of fellow Jedi Xaran Raal posing as a speeder thief. Lohmata had Billaba, whom she knew as "Hotwire," act as her bodyguard and driver as she stole the cases. When her thievery had satisfied Zilastra, Lohmata went with Zilastra to the Riftwalkers' base on the planet Valboraan, with "Hotwire" in tow, who had impressed Zilastra and been allowed to join the pirate gang. However, Billaba's cover was soon blown, and Zilastra imprisoned the undercover Jedi. Lohmata was shocked to learn that her accomplice had been a member of the Jedi. After witnessing Master Billaba, who deeply cared about Lohmata's well-being, be tortured at the hands of Zilastra, Lohmata decided to try and save her friend. She issued a distress call using Master Billaba's comlink, which she stole from her confiscated equipment. The distress call was received by Qui-Gon Jinn and his apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi, who had stopped over Valboraan on their way to the planet Kwenn to conduct mechanical checks on their shuttle. The received distress call caused an investigation which subsequently led to an attack on the pirate base, in which Billaba was freed and the headquarters were destroyed. However, Lohmata was not able to escape and was used as hostage to gain leverage on the Jedi. During the events of the Defense of Kwenn, Lohmata was eventually freed. Safe at last, Lohmata opted to join the crew of the Assurance after the battle.[1]
