Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past was written by Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit, who served as the series' showrunners as the second season to the 2024 animated series LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy.[1] During a Celebration Japan panel on April 19, 2025, Ahmed Best said that the second season would explore the Darth Jar Jar theory.
Casting[]
On April 19, 2025, Best confirmed that he would be reprising his role as "Darth Jar Jar" in Pieces of the Past. The characters Sig Greebling, Yesi Scala and Bobarian Afol were also confirmed as returning for the second season. In addition, Best confirmed that Ben Schwartz would be voicing the Lepi smuggler Jaxxon T. Tumperakki and that Ashley Eckstein would be voicing Ahsoka Tano.[1]
