LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a LEGO Star Wars video game developed by Traveller's Tales. It adapts the nine films of the Skywalker saga,[6] and was released on April 5, 2022.[3]
Gameplay
Unlike previous LEGO Star Wars games, the levels in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga do not need to be completed in a linear order. The hub area in the game is now a vast open-world environment that the player can fully explore. Additionally, random encounters can also appear in the hub relevant to the time that the player is taking part in, and players can choose to engage or disengage in the encounters.[7] Each film consists of five missions, making for a total of forty-five levels.[8]
Development
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was first announced in an interview with Matthew Wood at Celebration Chicago 2019.[9] The game's story has been overhauled, and the levels redone from LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga and LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens.[10]
A new look for the game premiered at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25, 2021.[11]
Initially announced for a 2020 release,[9] The Skywalker Saga's first delay came in August of that year for spring 2021.[12] A year later, a new release date of spring 2022 was revealed,[13] with a specific date of April 5 confirmed in January 2022.[3] It was released on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch. The game was released in both a standard edition and deluxe edition. The latter includes a special Darth Vader slipcover, a "Character Collection bundle" (seven DLC character packs), and a Luke Skywalker-with-Blue-Milk minifigure.[12] The seven DLC packs to be included in the Character Collection bundle will be The Mandalorian Pack 1, The Mandalorian Pack 2, a Rogue One: A Star Wars Story pack, a Classic Characters pack, a Solo: A Star Wars Story pack, a Star Wars: The Bad Batch pack, and a Trooper pack.[3]
Several 2020 LEGO sets included exclusive codes that unlock certain characters and vehicles in the game, including:
- Darth Sidious in

- ↑ LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga adapts the nine films in the Skywalker Saga. Star Wars: Galactic Atlas places the first eight films between 32 BBY and 34 ABY. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary dates Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker one year after 34 ABY, or 35 ABY. Because LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga takes place throughout those films, then it must take place throughout 32 BBY–35 ABY.
