Landing barges were starships designed to transport large amounts of ground vehicles and troops to a planetary surface. During the Third Battle of Vontor, the Human warlord Xim used immense landing barges to shuttle his troops to the surface of the planet Vontor to battle the forces of the Hutt general Kossak Inijic Ar'durv.
