"Let us Prey: The Whiphid's Tale" is a short story from Tales from Jabba's Palace, which was published by Bantam Spectra December 1995. The story tells the tale of the Whiphid J'Quille. It was co-written by Marina Fitch and Mark Budz.
Plot summary[]
J'Quille is an assassin and spy within Jabba's Palace. His slow plot to kill Jabba is proceeding exactly as he planned; he is bribing Phlegmin, the kitchen boy, to poison Jabba's food. However, J'Quille begins to be blackmailed, for omeone knows about his plan and J'Quille has already been forced to pay 10,000 credits to keep them silent. Now J'Quille must speed up his plan while trying to find the blackmailer. His plot completely crumbles when Phlegmin is murdered, and now J'Quille is left with one last chance to eliminate Jabba.
