Lightfoils were a type of small lightsabers that boasted a one-handed hilt and generated a slim plasma blade. Believed to have been created by the early Sith, they likely arose alongside the Makashi form of lightsaber combat. By the time of the Clone Wars, they had largely fallen out of use among the Jedi, who favored shoto lightsabers instead. However, they were still common among the so-called "saber rakes" of the Tapani sector.[2]
