The Lipsec system was located in the Koradin sector, a part of the Outer Rim Territories.[1] The system was situated at the endpoint of the Lipsec Run hyperlane, which connected it to the Virgillia system.[2]
The area of space surrounding the Lipsec system was explored between 1000 BBY and 25 BBY.[2] During the early phase of the Clone Wars in 22 BBY, the Nineteenth Sector Army of the Galactic Republic was charged with the defense of the system's vicinity against the Confederacy of Independent Systems.[3]
Shortly after the acquisition of the planet Ukio by the Commerce Guild during that conflict, the Lipsec system was featured on a galactic map displayed on a viewscreen at a facility run by Passel Argente, the Magistrate[4] of the Corporate Alliance.[5] The population of the Lipsec system around 25 ABY numbered between one million and ten million.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
The Lipsec system was first mentioned in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square I-18.[2] The Clone Wars: Act on Instinct, a webcomic authored by Pablo Hidalgo and released on StarWars.com[4] over the span of the 2009[6]–2010[7] second season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series,[6] featured the first appearance of the system.[4]
