DarthVader-MtVStormtroopers

Lord Vader, a Sith Lord who served as de facto "commander-in-chief" in the Galactic Empire.

"Ridiculous. Tell whoever-it-is we can't obey any orders unless they activate their holo and state their rank."
[Activates hologram to show himself] "Lord."
―An Imperial officer and Darth Vader[1]

Lord,[1] female equivalent Lady, was a title, often of nobility,[2] that applied to certain individuals having power and authority over others.

History[]

Lord Jedi was an ancient honorific applied to members of the Jedi Order.[3] Some former Jedi adopted the title of Lord or Lady, as was the case of Jedi-turned-mercenary Baylan Skoll[4] and former Padawan Ahsoka Tano.[5]

The Sith styled themselves as Sith Lords or Dark Lords of the Sith. Darth Sidious and his first two apprentices, Darth Maul and Darth Tyranus, were all addressed to as "Lord".[6][7] "Lord Vader" was the typical form of address by Imperial personnel, including Imperial officers and stormtroopers, for the Emperor's right-hand, Darth Vader.[1] Despite being a military commander[8] and acting as de facto Commander-in-Chief,[9] "Lord" was the closest title Vader had to a formal rank.[1]

General Grievous, the Supreme Commander of the Droid Army,[10] was addressed to as "My lord" by members of the Confederacy military, such as the Dark Acolyte Asajj Ventress[11] and TV-94.[12] Another Separatist leader who was referred to by the title was Poggle the Lesser,[13] Archduke of Geonosis.[14]

Many Imperial higher-ups and affiliates were referred to as "Lord" or "Lady", as seen with Grand Vizier Mas Amedda,[15] Tion, a high-ranking member of the Imperial Navy,[16] and the witch Morgan Elsbeth.[5] Though commonly a term of deference for counts,[17][18] "My lord" was also used by the Great Mothers to address their ally, Grand Admiral Thrawn.[19]

Bo-Katan Kryze, regent of Mandalore until she was deposed for not supporting the Galactic Empire, held the title of Lady.[2] As the new leader of Crimson Dawn, Qi'ra was usually called "Lady Qi'ra".[20]
