Lourna Dee's Tempest was one of the three Tempests within the Nihil and was led by the Tempest Runner Lourna Dee. It consisted of about one thousand members. As many Nihil who served in a Tempest took after their Runner, the Nihil of this Tempest were considered to be the most sadistic, as well as planners who only performed their jobs at the right time when they knew they would succeed.[1] By the time of the Battle of Galov, the Nihil were a reduced force, and Dee lost many of her followers in that engagement. After the Defense of the Restitution, Dee reformed her Tempest by bringing the prisoners of the Restitution into its ranks. She also made the prison ship into her new flagship, renaming the craft to be "the Lourna Dee."[2]
