"If showing someone Ludo Kressh's pedicure will change the game, I'm for it."
Marn Hierogryph[src]

Ludo Kressh's pedicure set was a set of grooming tools used by Sith servants who tended to Lord Ludo Kressh's feet before and during the Great Hyperspace War. The artifact was later discovered by agents of the Jedi Covenant and taken to the Sanctum of the Exalted for study. Eventually Zayne Carrick and his partner, Marn Hierogryph, stumbled upon the artifact during an investigation.

Description

"That's it! I'm submitting my resignation as a Sith artifact documentarian."
―Marn Hierogryph, with Ludo Kressh's pedicure resting on his stomach[src]

The kit that contained Ludo Kressh's podal caretaking instruments was a spherical, rimmed object with several cylindrical attachments and extraneous knobs placed on its surface. When it was later discovered by the Jedi Covenant it was placed in a transparent, glowing chartreuse cube of nullification resin for safety.[1]

History

"You have done well, and it has been rewarded. Glory in the honor, Seelah—it is the greatest that can befall such as us."
―Seelah's father, about her promotion to Ludo Kressh's podiatrist [src]

The pedicure set was used by slaves and servants during Ludo Kressh's rule on Rhelg to tend to his feet.[1][2] One such servant was Seelah Korsin, who was charged with tending to and nursing Ludo Kressh's feet, particularly after battle. When she failed to stop an infection from spreading after her master had injured one of his ankles, Ludo Kressh executed every member of her family, starting with her father. Eventually, seeing as she had nothing left to live for on Rhelg, Seelah left for the employ of Naga Sadow's faction.[3]

Roughly one thousand years later, the kit was discovered by the Snivvian Marn Hierogryph in the Covenant-controlled Sanctum of the Exalted. The artifact, like many others stored in the Sanctum, was covered in a special resin designed to dampen the effects of its potentially dangerous dark side aura on its caretakers. Hierogryph jokingly commented about using the artifact as evidence against the Jedi Covenant after reading its attached identichip. The artifact was all but obliterated, however, when Jedi Master Lucien Draay ordered the destruction of the sanctum.[1]

Behind the scenes

The pedicure set made its first appearance in Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 29: Exalted, Part 1. It would not appear again until the premier of another one of John Jackson Miller's works: Lost Tribe of the Sith: Paragon, in which one of the characters alludes to the origins of the artifact and is later confirmed by John Jackson Miller in his blog Q&A.[2]

As the contents of the pedicure set were never revealed or described, it not known what tools were inside, let alone how to open it.
