Machineville was an area located in the planet Taris' Lower City during the era of the Mandalorian Wars. True to its name, Machineville was set aside for the droid population of the Lower City, as a place where they could recharge and repair themselves. The area also served as a buffer zone between the rest of the Lower City and refugee camps set up during the Mandalorian Wars. Machineville was also located near a historic Lhosan Industries plant, along with the desolate Junk Junction area of the Lower City.
In the time of the Mandalorian Wars, many refugees began to settle and form camps near Machineville, which was known as the "birthplace of the swoop-bike" among the Tarisian racing community. Eventually, Machineville began to be regarded as a buffer zone between these camps and the rest of the Lower City. In 3963 BBY, the Mandalorians invaded Taris itself and laid waste to much of its cityscape. Thousands of Tarisians took shelter in the recently abandoned Lhosan Industries plant near Machineville, only for the Mandalorians to destroy their newfound sanctuary. Loss of life was reported to be high.
