The magnetic flashback suppressor[2] was a parabolic shaped dish that was affixed to the end of weapons such as the KX9 laser cannon manufactured by Taim & Bak[1] and the E-Web heavy repeating blaster from BlasTech Industries.[3] For the KX9 laser cannon, the suppressors reflected excess laser energy produced by the laser tip away from the laser barrel and fuselage of a starfighter.[1] The suppressors also safeguarded the cannon from the occasional unstable laser bolt.[2] The laser cannons were part of the armaments of Incom Corporation's T-65 X-wing starfighter,[1] and the curved shape of the suppressors were very recognizable.[4]
