The Magnetically Guided Grappling System, or MGGS, was standard equipment in Mag-ball. It was used to grapple onto magnetic points. Lain-Ricie sold these in the Juran Mountains on Alderaan.

The Magnetically Guided Grappling System first appeared in Star Wars: The Old Republic. It can be used to access the +10 to all stats datacron on Carrick Station and Vaiken Spacedock. It can also be used to access the strength datacron at the Lerantha Dam, and the ladder can no longer be scaled without it.
