A drag course used for Podracing existed[1] on the Mid Rim[2] planet of Malastare[1] during the year 32 BBY.[3] The course had a rocky surface, and contained several sharp turns and long straightaways, the latter which served as good opportunities for pilots to use their thrusters. The track also moved through a sizable methane lake, which was covered in a green haze. The Vulptereen pilot Dud Bolt was favored here, and would race against other pilots using his Vulptereen 327 Podracer.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The course first appeared, unnamed, in the 1999 Gameboy Color video game Star Wars Episode I: Racer. It was one of five courses available at the start of the game.[1]

- ↑ The New Essential Chronology dates the events of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace to the year 32 BBY. The racing season presented in the game Star Wars Episode I: Racer must have taken place during this year due to the appearances of Qui-Gon Jinn, Jar Jar Binks, and R2-D2 on Tatooine in the PC and Nintendo 64 versions of the game, which correspond to The Phantom Menace.
