Mamacores were carnivorous creatures from the estuary moon of Trask.
Biology and appearance[]
Mamacores had a large circular mouth lined with sharp teeth.[1]
History[]
One member of this species was held in captivity by Quarren boatmen, who regularly fed the beast. At one point, this mamacore attempted to eat Grogu alive, but was attacked soon after by the Mandalorian warrior Koska Reeves, who saved him.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
- "That mouth was pretty much all there was to the Mamacore design. Doug Chiang may have artwork somewhere that suggests what the rest of the creature looks like, but I never saw it. From the beginning, it was boarded and prevised as this big mouth rising out of the water."
- ―Hal Hickel, in Cinefex 172
A mamacore appeared in the Mandalorian Season Two episode "Chapter 11: The Heiress,"[3] which was directed by Bryce Dallas Howard, written by Jon Favreau, and first aired on November 13, 2020.[5]
