- "Mamura's Stvdio [sic] Design Art"
- ―Building signage
Mamura's was a large establishment in a village[1] on the Outer Rim Territories planet Genbara.[2] A large structure rested on top of the roof and was emblazoned with a stylized version of the Aurebesh version of the letter M, Mern. The Aurebesh version of the letter O, Osk, was printed on two lanterns and a sign hanging on the building. The building was decorated with banners written in Aurebesh. Some of them read "M MAMURA'S STVDIO [sic] DESIGN ART".[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Other banners on the establishment spell out "TANOSAR KNNANI" • "SIGOTO" • "SIAGA[illegible symbol]N [illegible symbol]AGGY URE[illegible symbol]II SAIKOV" • "KYOTO" • "KAMKAZE".[1] Kyoto is the name of a city in Japan, hinting at the origins of the episode "The Duel," which is set in an alternate history pulled from Japanese lore[3] that fuses Star Wars with feudal Japan.[4] Similarly, "sigoto" is similar to "shigoto", a Japanese word for "work".[5] "Saikov" is similar to "saikou", a Japanese word meaning the highest, or supreme.[6] "Kamkaze" is similar to kamikaze, a member of a Japanese air attack corps in World War II, assigned to make a suicidal crash on a target, such as a ship.[7]
