Marauder Battle Armor

The Marauder battle armor, also known as Marauder armor, was a type of armor created by the Sanyassan Marauders from the Forest Moon of Endor.^[2] It offered protection against kinetic damage as well as from energy-based weapons like blasters.^[1] This armor was usually made up of any available moldable materials that may have some protective traits. Hence, its effectiveness could vary greatly, depending on the type of materials used and the skills of the armorsmith. A typical complete armor set comprised helmet, breastplate, left and right biceps, left and right bracers, gloves, leggings and boots. It was available in several different colors.^[2] Two other models of Marauder armors also existed: the Marauder assault armor and the Marauder recon armor.^[3] In addition to the Sanyassan Marauders on Endor, Marauder armors were worn by spacers during the Galactic Civil War.^[2]

After the Battle of Yavin, King Terak offered a Marauder armor to a spacer who had achieved several missions for him and the Sanyassan Marauders.^[2]

Behind the scenes[]

The Marauder armor appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,^[2] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.^[4] The Marauder armor became the Marauder battle armor when the armor was adapted to the new armor system of the "Combat Upgrade,"^[5] released on April 27, 2005.^[6]
