Marshal was a title for individuals of heightened status. During the Clone Wars, it was held by Phara on the Outer Rim planet of Vallt. While marshal, she led her faction against Vallt's government, launching a coup and taking over the government and planet.[1] In the town of Mos Pelgo on the planet Tatooine, the town's lawman, Cobb Vanth, was known as "The Marshal" and held the title.[7] Carasynthia Dune later adopted the title in a settlement on Nevarro,[5] and continued to serve in that capacity as a Marshal of the New Republic.[2] Dune later left the position to serve in the New Republic Special Forces, and High Magistrate Greef Karga offered the position to the Mandalorian Din Djarin, who refused the offer.[8] Instead, IG-11 took the role.[6]
During the High Republic Era, Jedi Grand Master Pra-Tre Veter and Yoda appointed Jedi Master Avar Kriss as Marshal of the newly constructed Starlight Beacon space station.[3]
