Master designer was a title held by a chief engineer of the species that dominated Wild Space centuries before the Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. Master designers oversaw the species' weapons tests against inhabited planets, and the Master Designers Council ordered the construction of the artificial planet Iokath. Master Designer Vel Jyc Boer built the artificial intelligence SCORPIO.[1]
