The MedStar-class frigate was a class of medical frigate used by the Republic Navy during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems[1] which lasted from 22 BBY to 19 BBY.[2] Injured clone troopers requiring long-term care were transferred from Republic Mobile Surgical Units to larger medical facilities, which included MedStar-class frigates.[1]
Behind the scenes
MedStar-class frigates were mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars roleplaying products.[1] The MedStar-class frigates were originally created for the Star Wars Legends continuity, where they first appeared in the 2004 novel MedStar I: Battle Surgeons, written by Michael Reaves and Steve Perry.[3]
