The Medal of Bravery

A medal was a form of award. The Alliance to Restore the Republic awarded the medal of Bravery to distinguished recipients, including Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Chewbacca following their heroism during the Battle of Yavin. When a TIE pilot in the Galactic Empire died in the line of battle, a plastoid medal was mailed to their family along with a note thanking them for their sacrifice.
