- "The Ommni Box player in our band is kind of a prankster."
- ―Blerx Tango, to a spacer
Mellaw Doowon was a male Ithorian and ommni box player in a band called the Dewback Ramblers.
Biography[]
- "He travelled here to Tatooine using the wrong travel papers. I guess he never should have given his name as ""Lord Vader."" Anyway, the authorities are after him, so I need you to bring him here safely. Okay?"
- ―Blerx Tango, to a spacer
After the Battle of Yavin, Mellaw Doowon and the Dewback Ramblers operated out of the Lucky Star cantina in Mos Entha, on the planet Tatooine.[1]
In 1 ABY,[2] Mellaw Doowon made some bad jokes to Imperial authorities outside of Mos Entha. The band leader Blerx Tango tasked a spacer to find Mellaw, and bring him back safely. The spacer agreed, but was forced to kill a stormtrooper that would not let Mellaw be escorted.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Mellaw Doowon was a Non-Player Character (NPC) in the MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[3] In the game, players doing a mission for Blerx Tango had to rescue Mellaw.[1]

Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided — Static Quest: "Blerx Tango" on Tatooine
- ↑ The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
