A memory bank,[2] memory core,[3] data bank,[4] or memory log[5] was a device found in droids, where data was stored.[6]

The term "memory log" was first introduced in Galladinium's Fantastic Technology.[5] It was later reused in "The Deserter",[6] only for its episode guide to use the term "memory banks,"[7] thereby establishing "memory log" as an alternate name for a memory core.
