History

The planet Ilum, end point of the hyperlane

This hyperlane was the traditional route to the remote planet of Ilum, in the Unknown Regions. It consisted of one uninterrupted hyperspace jump directly from Metellos, in the Core Worlds. This hyperjump could only be accomplished by pilots who were strong in the Force, and was kept secret by the Jedi Order.

This journey was usually made by those who needed to build their first lightsabers, or to replace their lost weapons. The Jedi would then travel to the Crystal Caves of Ilum and look for its crystals, which were used as lightsaber crystals.
