Mia Gabon was a human pilot who served the New Republic in the Starfighter Corps of the New Republic Defense Force during the Cold War with the First Order. In 34 ABY, Gabon flew a T-85 X-wing starfighter as part of a team alongside fellow pilots Kazuda Xiono and Hugh Sion on a mission to deliver intelligence to Commander Poe Dameron. While being pursued by Major Elrik Vonreg of the First Order, Xiono ordered Gabon and Sion to jump to hyperspace while he stayed behind to finish the mission.

In 34 ABY,^[2] during the Cold War between the New Republic and its allies and the First Order, the human Mia Gabon served in the New Republic Defense Force's Starfighter Corps as the pilot of a T-85 X-wing starfighter and member of a team under the command of fellow pilot Kazuda Xiono. Along with Xiono and another pilot, Hugh Sion, they were sent on a mission to rendezvous with Commander Poe Dameron of the Resistance to deliver intelligence.^[1]

After arriving at the rendezvous point, the three pilots were ambushed by^[1] Major Elrik Vonreg^[3] of the First Order, and Gabon and Sion were concerned that they would be unable to complete their mission. Xiono ordered them and Sion to escape into hyperspace and return to base as he covered them, promising to follow right behind them. After Gabon and Sion closed their s-foils and made their hyperspace jumps, Xiono's starfighter was shot by Vonreg, though the pilot was soon rescued by Commander Dameron. Instead of returning to base to rendevous with Gabon and Sion, however, Xiono volunteered to join the Resistance,^[1] with his lack of returning causing Sion and Gabon to assume the worst.^[4]

Personality and traits[]

Gabon had brown hair and eyes and light skin. When under pursuit by Vonreg, they showed distress and frustration due to their inability to land a shot on their enemy. When given the order to return to base, Gabon complied while asking Xiono to promise he would be right behind them.^[1] After Xiono failed to return to base, Gabon feared the worst.^[4]

Equipment[]

While flying their T-85 X-wing starfighter, Gabon wore a blue New Republic flight suit that included a blue flight helmet with two red, rounded triangles on either side of its center white stripe, with a red line beside each of the triangles. The helmet also had a breathing tube attached to the left side of the chin.^[1]

Mia Gabon first appeared in the first part of the Star Wars Resistance animated television series' two-part season one premiere, "The Recruit," where they were voiced by Cherami Leigh,^[1] who was honored and excited to be involved with the show.^[5] The episode aired on October 7, 2018.^[6]
