A mimetic suit was a type of stealth suit that used an optical camouflage system combined with electromagnetic and heat shielding, sound bafflers, and other stealth systems to render its user almost completely invisible to sensors and other individuals. It required small, high-output energy cells, built into its belt or wristbands, to power all of its systems. All mimetic suits were illegal to own and to sell to civilians, and were primarily used by law enforcement agencies, governmental intelligence, and some criminals. One notable model was the Mk IX Personal Mimetic Concealment Suit, manufactured by Cyricept.[1]

Mimetic suits were first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in Cyphers and Masks,[1] a 2018 sourcebook for the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game published by Fantasy Flight Games.[2] They originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where they first appeared in Cloak of Deception, a 2001 novel written by James Luceno and published by Del Rey.[3]
