Mining droids were a classification of droid used for mining operations. One model of mining droid was the DLC-13 mining droid, which was equipped with a repulsorlift and used to extract ores from lava rivers.[1] Some ancient models of mining droids were modified with combat protocols and used as sentries on worlds such as Burnin Konn, Mataou, and Bespin. The droids on Mataou were used by the Hutts and worked alongside Hutt Guard Droids.[2]
